Auditions have begun in Santa Monica, California, for musicians
to appear on pop / jazz singer Moira Cue’s upcoming new
blues album, to be produced later this year.
RECORDING ACADEMY Director / C.E.O. NEIL PORTNOW shook hands with
Moira Cue during Grammy week, and wished her success in her work.
Clive Davis’ office stated that Moira Cue’s new song
‘California’ on her demo is very memorable, and that
they couldn’t get it out of their head. America’s Got
Talent called the song ‘A hit.’
MOIRA CUE, whose last L.A. performances were at the THE KNITTING
FACTORY and THE MINT, began her performance training at THE
SCHOOL OF THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO through the CHICAGO CIVIC
OPERA. She was last under tutelage with vocal coach legend GLORIA
BENNET who trained GUNS & ROSES front man AXL ROSE among other
stars.
In addition to a successful acting and singing career, Moira Cue
is a master painter, having shown at some of New York
City’s and Chicago’s finest galleries. With over
1,000 paintings to her credit, she has wowed the art world with
her ‘1 million kisses,’ and an installation of 365
miniature paintings, for her ‘Painting a day’ series.
With works in the collection of celebrity / collector MADONNA,
and real estate mogul GRANT CARDONE among more, Moira Cue’s
artwork has been compared by critics to her influences of FRIDA
KAHLO, GUSTAV KLIMT, and PICASSO.
Influenced musically by jazz legends such as BILLIE HOLIDAY and
EARTHA KITT, as well as BJORK and Madonna, Moira Cue’s
first full length offering is destined for iconic status and
greatness in the world of music.
