The most beautiful actresses of our time not only bare their
beauty on screen with their presence, but the living greats of
our generation, which we here salute, also bare their soul. A
great actor, like a great script, can make us laugh or cry. And
these TOP 10 HOTTEST ACTRESSES OF OUR TIME made this elite list
not only for their looks, but for their ability to move us in
ways that only a great actor can; with their voice, their figure,
their actions, and of course, with their face, and its every
expression and nuance. While our industry is filled with plenty
of amazingly talented and beautiful stars, these women are at the
pinnacle, the forefront of greatness and all it embodies in
Hollywood. They above all others are the reason why men and woman
alike intrigue or obsess about Hollywood. They are Hollywood, in
its greatest form.
Born on September 27th 1972 to producer Bruce Paltrow and actress
blithe Danner, Gwyneth Paltrow moved to Massachusetts with her
family at age eleven. It was here she began her early study of
the arts, including acting, at the direction of her parents.
After moving to New York City to attend Spence College, she later
moved to Santa Barbara, California where she was an art history
major at the University of California. She later quit, and began
following in her mother’s footsteps, acting on stage,
including the Williamstown Theatre play “Picnic” in
which both she and her mother appeared. In 1991, she appeared in
her first major feature, “Shout,” starring John
Travolta. In 1992 she appeared in the TV movie “Cruel
Doubt,” and in 1993’s TV movie “Deadly
Relations.” She was then cast in “Hook” after
meeting director Steven Spielberg, and “Flesh and Bone”
was filmed in 1993, as was “Malice.” Following this
was “Mrs. Parker and The Vicious Circle” in 1994, and
“Jefferson In Paris.” Then “Higher
Learning,” and also “Moonlight and Valentino”
in 1995, but it was her cameo in the serial killer thriller
“Se7en” starring Brad Pitt that would really throw
her in the spotlight. As many stars who found romance on set, the
two took a liking for one another, and began seeing each other
and later got engaged. Deciding that their two careers and
relationship would not match however, they amicably moved on, and
are reportedly friend to this day.
In 1996, she starred in
“Hard Eight,” and “The Pallbearer,” but
it was her role in “Emma” the same year that would
gain her the most critical acclaim yet of her career. In 1997,
she starred on TV again for the miniseries of “Thomas
Jefferson.” But to understand why she would have little
time for love, one needed to only look at her workload the next
year in 1998 which had her starring in five films; “Sliding
Doors,” “Great Expectations,” the films
“Hush” and “A Perfect Murder,” and as if
that wasn’t enough, she starred in the 1998 blockbuster,
“Shakespeare In Love,” for which she received her
first Oscar® nomination. “The Talented Mr.
Ripley” followed in 1999, and “Duets” and
“Bounce” followed in 2000. 2011 brought Gwyneth
starring in “The Royal Tenenbaums” and “The
Anniversary Party,” but it was her controversial, starring
role in a fat suit in “Shallow Hal” that got her even
bigger fame. In 2002 she starred in “Austin Powers
Goldmember,” and in the same year “Possession.”
In 2003, she starred in “View From the Top” and
“Sylvia,” and in 2004, “Sky Captain and the
World of Tomorrow.” 2005 saw her appear in
“Proof,” 2006 in “Infamous,” and in the
same year, “Love and Other Disasters,” and
“Running With Scissors.” “The Good Night”
was in 2007, more TV movies followed in 2008 with
“Classical Baby” and “The Poetry Show,”
and in 2008, a film called “Iron Man.” “Two
Lovers” followed in 2008. In 2009 Gwyneth began focusing
more on her voice as a singer, performing rock, folk,
alternative, and finding her preferred niche in country music. 2010 saw
her return to the screen in “Iron Man 2,” back to TV
on the hit show “Glee” for a solid year of episodes
in which she also sang, and “Country Strong” back on
the big screen as a country singer. Reported upcoming films
include “Contagion,” and “The Avengers”
among more, as well a new record. Gwyneth Paltrow has also now
released her book, “My Fathers Daughter,” subtitled
“Delicious Easy Recipes About Family and
Togetherness.”
