The world’s most brilliant modern comedic writer,
producer, director- John Hughes, sadly passed on last month in
NYC. The man behind Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club,
Pretty In Pink, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes
Trains & Automobiles, She's Having A Baby, Curly Sue, Home Alone,
Vacation, European Vacation, and many more, passed on
while on a walk, visiting his family in NYC.
Bruce Edwin of the Hollywood Sentinel states, "Growing up near,
and later in, Chicago, John Hughes had a bigger influence on me
than any other filmmaker as a teenager, as his films were always
set in or around Chicago, one of the best cities in the world,
which he greatly loved. We kids in and near Chicago would always
get excited to see our city in his brilliant, funny, cool films.
He was a comedy genius, whose brilliant formula worked every
time, without resorting to violence or sleaze. He was a man of
great integrity, talent, and moral stature. His brilliance will
be sadly missed. His loss is truly a sad day for Hollywood and
the world of entertainment. His spirit and his cinematic
masterpieces shall live on."
